3 Year Old Child Shot in the Head in Peoria
PEORIA, Ill. (AP) -- A 3 year old Peoria child has been shot in the head while at home in what police say was probably a drive-by shooting.

Police say the child was shot Friday evening.
An officer told the Chicago Tribune that the child was transported to OSF St. Francis Medical Center. The child's condition wasn't immediately available.

Authorities haven't released any other information about the child.
Peoria police Chief Steve Settingsgaard told the (Peoria) Journal Star that the shooting "was probably a drive-by." Shots were fired inside the child's home and into a car parked on the street outside.

A neighbor says the shooting sounded like a machine gun because of the number of shots fired.
