Quinn: Davlin Made Springfield Better Place
CHICAGO (AP) -- Gov. Pat Quinn says Springfield is a better place because of the leadership of the late Mayor Tim Davlin.

Davlin was found dead in his home Tuesday morning after he failed to show up for a court hearing.

Police aren't releasing details about how the 53-year-old Democrat died.

Quinn, a fellow Democrat, says in a statement that Davlin "was a great public servant" who loved the city and its people.

He says Davlin led the community through some of its most difficult times and worked hard to revitalize the city.

And he says the mayor will be missed by all who knew him.

Davlin had been mayor of Illinois' 120,000-resident capital city since April 2003.
