Woman Injured Trying to Pass Snow Plow
A Galesburg woman is hospitalized after she attempted to pass a state snow plow Monday afternoon.

Illinois State Police in Macomb say the accident on U.S. 67 just south of the entrance to Lake Warren around 12:50pm.

Troopers say a vehicle driven by 42-year old Jane Hallberg was attempting to pass an Illinois Department of Transportation snow plow doing work in that area, but while doing so, collided with a garbage truck in the area that had swerved to try to miss an accident, along with, eventually, the snow plow.

Hallberg's vehicle came to rest in the northbound lanes after the collision, while both the garbage truck and the snow plow eventually stopped.

Hallberg was transported by helicopter to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria with what were described as moderate injuries.

Troopers say an investigation is continuing, and they don't yet say if any tickets will be issued.

Troopers were assisted, by Warren County Sheriffs Deputies, Alexis Fire and Ambulance, and the Monmouth Fire Department.
