Police: Escaped Inmate on the Loose in Davenport
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) -- Police say an inmate who escaped from an Iowa City hospital made a woman drive him to Davenport, where he remains on the run.

Iowa City Police Sgt. Denise Brotherton says 20 year old Anthony Koehlhoeffer "carjacked" a woman's vehicle after he left the scene of an accident in a vehicle that he had stolen earlier Wednesday.

Brotherton says he forced the woman to drive 55 miles east to Davenport, where he fled and left her in her vehicle. She says the woman was not injured and she doesn't know whether Koehlhoeffer had a weapon.

Authorities say Koehlhoeffer escaped from University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics on Tuesday at about 11:30 p.m. and left in a stolen vehicle. He allegedly carjacked another vehicle hours later, which he crashed and fled on foot.
