Guenseth Switches Executive Director Hats
The ceremonial torch has been now officially been passed to the new Executive Director of the Galesburg Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Judy Guenseth will be taking over for Diane Bruening this month.
Guenseth was introduced during the tourism council meeting Tuesday afternoon.

Bruening says she's leaving the bureau in good hands.

"I think Judy is going to bring a new level and a new aspect to tourism and I'm excited about that. I've enjoyed my job so much here, and it's been so rewarding in so many different ways, but it also gives you that chance to be creative and draw on new ideas to bring to the town. I think Judy is going to come up with some great ones."

Brueining announced her retirement earlier this year and plans a move to Alabama.

Guenseth will begin full time at the GACVB on the 20th. She is currently Executive Director of the Knox County Court Appointed Special Advocate or CASA.
