Search on Hold for Woman Missing after Fatal Crash
RANSOM, Ill. (AP) -- The search for a Ransom woman who disappeared after a fatal crash last week remains on hold.

Forty year old Tanya Shannon has been missing since Dec. 5. That's when authorities found the car she was believed to be riding in with her husband when their car crashed after they left a holiday party.

Her husband, 41 year old Dale Shannon, was dead behind the wheel. Footprints in the snow led away from the car.

Dozens of searchers probed snow banks and ditches for days with no clues. The cold weather ended the search in the rural area.

Sherriff Tom Templeton tells the Bloomington Pantagraph there's no indication that the case is anything more than a missing woman case.
Templeton says the FBI won't be called unless there's evidence of an abduction.
