State Bills Six Months Late to Carl Sandburg College
It's a different day, same story for Carl Sandburg College.

The state of Illinois is about six months behind in paying it's bills to the institution.
In fact, according to Chief Financial Officer Lisa Blake, the state just recently finally made good on payments from fiscal year 2010.

"To date we have received one month in base operating state revenue and again that we received back in August, but I am happy to report as of last Friday we did receive the fourth quarter of last year's money so we are paid in full for fiscal year ten, we just don't have any fiscal year 11."

Blake says the one payment received for fiscal year 2011, was worth about two weeks of expenses.

At last night's board of trustees meeting, members also approved the final $9.1 million tax levy for 2010, which will remain at a flat rate, but will increase revenue for the school due to an increase in property values.
