Intellihot Chooses Galesburg
A company looking to create more efficient tankless water heaters will make Galesburg its home.

Intellihot Green Technologies Inc. announced Monday it will be ready for production by next year.

President of the company Sridhar Deivasigamani tells WGIL Galesburg was the best fit.

"Obviously the entire package had to make sense. It was very important for us to surround ourselves with people who shared the same initiative, trust, and vision. We had an opportunity both in the state, outside the state, even private investors could take this company elsewhere. We felt that for what we had planned for the company, in being able to bring sustainable products to the market, the community here and the talent here, obviously financing was a big part, was all conducive to that."

Intellihot received a total of $2.5 million dollars in loans from the city and state which closed earlier this month.

It will be located in Galesburg's Sustainable Business Center, creating around 150 jobs within four years.
