Six Arrested for Armed Robberies
Galesburg police may finally have solved at least some of the large number of armed robberies that have occurred this year.

Police say six people were arrested Tuesday in connection to an armed robbery reported Monday night, and possibly some of the 18 others that have occurred this year.

Officers say they were first called to Grand Liquor on Grand Avenue around 11:20 Monday night after the store was robbed of money by three people described as black males with hooded clothing.

They say a later search led them to a home in the one-thousand block of West Berrien Street, where they found cash and other evidence.

Police say they arrested 21-year old Bryan Vann, 20-year old Searcy Boyd, and 17-year old Seville Boyd, all of Galesburg, along with 20-year old Albert Prater and 17-year old Shane Tatum, both of Skokie, along with 18-year old Jekorey Green of Detroit, Michigan -- all on charges of Armed Robbery and various weapons violations.

The six are being held in the Knox County Jail until their first appearances in court.

Police also gave credit to investigators at the Rolling Meadows Police Department, who they say provided information to local investigators that led to the developing of information on the suspects.
