Teens Arrested for Drung New to Galesburg
Two men and one woman were arrested early Wednesday morning on drug related charges.

Officers stopped a car full of people along South Lake Story Road because the car had been passing over the center line.

After speaking with the driver, 18 year old Brandon Joseph of Galesburg, police realized he was under the influence.

Joseph admitted to having smoked some "weed" earlier in the night. Police then asked each of the five passengers to exit the vehicle.

18 year old Ashley Sterns was found carrying a pipe used to smoke marijuana.

Another passenger, 18 year old Douglas Shope of Harlan, Kentucky was allegedly in possession of a drug called salvia.

According to police reports, Shope told police his father bought the drug online and he came to Illinois to sell it, but no one wanted to buy it.

In Illinois, Salvia Divinorum, a psychoactive drug that can produce hallucinations, is a schedule one narcotic and illegal.

Shope and Joseph were arrested for possession of any substance with intent among other charges. Sterns was taken into custody for possession of drug paraphernalia.
