More Than 1,700 Unscheduled Travelers at O'Hare
CHICAGO (AP) -- Ricardo Sa is among the estimated 1,700 travelers stranded in Chicago because of severe weather conditions on the East Coast.

The Brazilian civil engineer from Sao Paulo and his wife are trying to get to New York for a vacation, but their plane was held up at O'Hare International Airport after a winter snow dumped more than 2 feet of snow in portions of the Northeast.

Their flight is now scheduled to depart from Chicago on Wednesday. That means missing their Tuesday evening plans to see a Broadway performance of ``Mama Mia!''

The couple plans to do some sightseeing in Chicago until Wednesday. Sa figures he'll spend an extra $1,000 because of the delay.

Several international flights were diverted Monday to O'Hare.
