Flat Property Tax Levy for Knoxville Schools
The Knoxville School District is holding the line on property taxes for now.

The District-202 Board last week approved a 2011 tax levy request of three and a half million dollars. Governmental entities must file their property tax levy requests with their respective county clerks by today.

And Superintendent Stephen Wilder says relief for home owners despite some good property value news was important.

"We have seen a slight rise in EAV primarily due to the increased accessed valuation in farmland, but recommendation is that the levy stay flat, we had a long discussion about this at the last board meeting."

Wilder does remain somewhat concerned about state aid payments, despite him saying they're becoming more and more consistent.
