Galesburg Student Claims Attemtped Abduction
Galesburg Police are investigating an attempted abduction Thursday morning.

According to a city press release, a Galesburg High School North student was walking near the intersection of Maple Avenue and Bernard Street when a man in a truck tried to coax her into his vehicle.

The female student continued to school and reported the incident.

The man is described as white male wearing a black coat with red cuffs, having chubby face and thin mustache.

The man was driving a white regular cab Ford F150 truck, a late 90's for early 2000's model.

The student was unharmed in the incident but police encourage anyone with information to call the department at 343-9151.
