What's in Store for Galesburg in 2011
State Representative Don Moffitt is looking ahead in 2011.

Moffitt jointed WGIL's Galesburg Live this morning to discuss upcoming projects in the state, including what's in store for Galesburg.

Construction on the first of three rail-grade separations will begin and Moffitt says aside from the convenience for Galesburg drivers, it could make the Galesburg train yard more inviting for future expansion.

"Getting trains in and out of the yard in critical for the railraod, for their efficiency and utilization of that yard, and with these grade separations getting in and out of Galesburg, and we are a very busy yard, will be made even easier because they won't have to worry about blocking these three main arteries."

Moffitt adds that the projects will bring about temporary construction jobs for as long as six years, and will also be a benefit to emergency personnel needing to navigate through town.
