Attorney General Issues Product Recall Guide
The Illinois Attorney General has the latest recall guide for children's products.

The book lists all 147 of the children's products for which recall notices were issued this year. Attorney General Lisa Madigan publishes the guide every year.

Madigan says you need a copy if you still have shopping to do for Christmas.

"What we are encouraging parents, grandparents -- anybody who is going to be shopping for a child during the holiday season -- that they look at this information and ensure that they are not purchasing items that are dangerous for a child," Madigan said.

Madigan says it's also useful if you still need to check on items already in your home, and for items you might have purchased at a garage sale or family member.

"People are buying items on the second-hand market," Madigan said. "They are going to second-hand stores, they are also getting on E-Bay and Craigslist to do their shopping. So, again, very, very important to make sure you are buying safe things for your children."

The book has pictures of each item and descriptions of the hazards. The book is available at several Attorney General's offices in the state, online at www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov, or by calling 1-888-414-7678.
