New Knox County Board Member Sworn In
The newest member of the Knox County Board is ready to get to work.

District-Four Republican Shawn Pittman took the oath of office at Monday night's Knox County Board reorganization meeting, along with several other County Board members who were re-elected.

Pittman tells WGIL he wants to help the county bring some much needed money in, through at least one big way.

"I'm hoping I can help with getting the county going with the wind towers, and just looking for different ways the county can generate new revenue streams and try and lessen the burden on the taxpayers."

Pittman was assigned by County Board Chairman Greg Bacon to at least temporarily serve on the Nursing Home/Landfill and Building Committees, and says he hopes he is able to serve on them permanently when new committee assignments are announced, possibly in January.

Those are the two committees that the man Pittman replaces served on -- Lowell Mannhardt. Mannhardt opted not to seek another term.
