Prosecutor Won't File Charges in Woman's Death
LACON, Ill. (AP) -- Marshall County State's Attorney Paul Bauer isn't filing criminal charges against a Varna man whose alcoholic wife's death was ruled homicidal by a coroner's jury because of suspicions of neglect.

Bauer tells the (Peoria) Journal Star he didn't find evidence to support charges against John Repholz .

Authorities say 73 year old Ann Repholtz was left lying in her own waste for nearly two days, but Bauer said John Repholz's actions didn't amount to criminal neglect or abuse.

Ann Repholz died July 19 in Peoria, where she had been brought by ambulance July 15. She had been taken to a Princeton hospital on July 13, but left against medical advice. Authorities say she passed out on the drive home and her husband left her lying on a rug in their home.
