Knox County Board Honors Former Member
The former Chair of the Finance Committee was honored by the Knox County Board earlier this week.

District Four Republican Wayne Saline stepped down from his county board seat on July 27th.

Board Chairman and current head of the Finance Committee Greg Bacon reflects on Saline's 11 years of service to Knox County.

"We got a $30-40 million dollar budget, cutting $4-5 thousand dollars here and there, piece of cake," Bacon said. "Well I soon learned from Mr. Saline, it's not really that easy."

"Everybody's cut really tight to the bone. He's been a good friend and a really good mentor. And I appreciate everything you've done for me and for the county board, thank you."

Saline joked saying that even after over a decade on the county board, he still doesn't know as much as he should have.

The Rio native was presented with a Plaque representing the board's appreciation during Monday night's meeting.
