District 238 Approves 2011 Tax Levy
On the same night a new District-238 superintendent was introduced, a 2011 Tax Levy was adopted.

The Monmouth-Roseville board of education Tuesday approved the request that current Superintendent Paul Woehlke says is flat for the most part.

"The part that we levy was $4,781,000-dollars," Woehlke said. "What most people like to hear is the levy rate. What we expect the levy rate to end up being is $4.5847, and that's about a half percent increase in the levy rate over last year."

Woehlke says district officials anticipated a 1-percent increase in residential values. He says the $4.58 tax rate with the 2011 Tax Levy is consistent with their estimation.

In other other news, Woehlke says the District Goals Committee is halfway through prioritizing strategies to improve academics, behavior, and attendance in the Monmouth-Roseville school district.

He expects a more complete plan is to be administered to the board by March.
