Former Galesburg Alderman Wins Out GOP Caucus
The Knox County GOP Party has brought forward their recommendation for the county board seat vacated by District One Republican Allen Pickrel.

Former Galesburg Alderman Rollie Paulsgrove unanimously captured the vote during Thursday night's Republican Caucus.

He tells WGIL the interview process featured questioning that needed extra consideration on his part.

"I guess evidently I must have answered them correctly," he said. "I did get the nod for them, now I've just got to go in front of the county board as a whole. They didn't beat me up to bad, again, good questions."

"And necessary questions, coming into the tight time we have with funds, and not just with the county, but with the city, the state, the federal government. It's going to be some tough times."

If approved by county board members, Paulsgrove will bring 32 years of railroad experience to his county chair. He's held countless job titles with BNSF that include engineer, conductor, and chief operating officer.

Paulsgrove says his knowledge of budgets and supervising history can assist Knox County's operations.
