Red Carpet Series Revealed on WGIL
The outgoing president of Galesburg's Orpheum Theatre says she's hopefully giving patrons exactly what they want in a popular series of shows starting back up again in February.

Kate Francis announced the 2012 Red Carpet Series Thursday morning on the WGIL Morning News. She says a Beatles tribute band called BritishMania, and an award-winning play called "Doubt: A Parable" will be among the new acts on board for next season.

But Francis tells WGIL it's the first time the series will bring back a couple of acts that the public asked to see again.

"April 14th., that is a Saturday at 7:30pm, I am proud to announce 'Celtic Crossroads' is returning," Francis said. "That also is a popular show, and we anticipate that show will sell out this year."

Francis says the second act back by popular demand is one that hasn't been at the theatre in a couple years.

"We're going to round out the season again with another Christmas program, but this will be the return of 'The Lowe Family,'" she said. "'The Lowe Family' is a group that has performed in Branson for many, many years."

The Lowe Family performs December 15th of next year.

Francis says the Orpheum will also collaborate with Prairie Players Civic Theatre for performances of "The Pirates of Penzance" in July.

More information is available on the Orpheum's website.
