Authorities Discover Drugs, Gun in Galesburg Apartment Raid
Two Galesburg men were arrested on drug and weapon charges after police and special agents raided their apartment Thursday night.

Galesburg Police and the Peoria Multi-County Narcotic Enforcement Group collaborated on a search of 25 year old Bryan Kelley and 28 year old Michael Martinez's Grand Avenue Apartment around 6:45pm Thursday.

Authorities say they discovered 2 1/2 to 10 grams of cannabis and 1 to 15 grams of crack cocaine. Kelley and Martinez are being charged with possession of both, with an intent to manufacture or deliver the cocaine.

Police also say a handgun was recovered from the apartment, and the men face additional charges of felony possession of a weapon with a single count of armed violence. Records indicate both men are convicted felons.

A police report notes a warrant had been out for Martinez's arrest in connection to theft and domestic battery charges.

Both men are awaiting a court appearance at Knox County Jail.
