Moffitt Says this was a Good Year for the Railroad
To hear one local lawmaker tell it, 2011 was a great year for the railroad and the City of Galesburg.

State Representative Don Moffitt spoke before the Galesburg-Area Chamber of Commerce Wednesday, and spoke highly of both Burlington Northern Santa Fe, and the three rail crossing grade separations in Galesburg.

Moffitt told Chamber members it's all good for BNSF.

"The railroad is very busy, that's good news, that means jobs, that's what we're all about here, that's our largest employer," Moffitt said. "Railroads are running strong and we want them to run stronger. That's our goal with these three grade separations."

The Gilson Republican says it's great news that everyone that has been laid off in recent years by the railroad has been recalled.

Moffitt continues to say that the effort to get funding for the separations was a perfect example of bi-partisanship.
