Man Appears With New Attorney in Suspected Car Jacking
A Galesburg man suspected of being involved in an alleged September car jacking made his first appearance in court Wednesday with a new attorney.

20-year old Robert Kimble was inside the Knox County Circuit Courthouse Wednesday morning alongside Defense Attorney Bill Butts. Circuit Court records indicate Kimble was previously defended by Dan O'Brien.

Kimble is next scheduled for a February 6th pre trial conference. He will answer accountability charges that include aggravated vehicular hijacking, reckless discharge of a firearm, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Police accuse Kimble and four others of allegedly stealing a Galesburg man's car on the night of September 21st in the 14-hundred block of North West Street.

This after police allege 20-year old Chicagoan Rontonio Guterz of striking the vehicle's owner in the head with a gun. Reports show the gun was fired, but the victim suffered only head and facial injuries from being struck by the weapon.

20-year olds Isaac Jeffries, Michael Williams, and Kionne Moore face identical accountability charges to Kimbles. Jeffries will join Kimble in February for a pretrial hearing, while Guterz and Moore will next be in court January 3rd.

Court records show Guterz is facing the stiffest felony-related charges for allegedly actually committing the crime.
