Galesburg Car Dealership Reinvesting in the City
FIRST REPORTED 3:00pm 12/9/11 From North Henderson Street to North Seminary Street-- this, the transition Galesburg Toyota will be making in the spring.

General Manager Jeff Everhart says the purchase of two lots next to Buffalo Wilds Wings was finalized Wednesday.

He tells WGIL it's exciting for the Toyota brand, especially since the dealings of Honda leaving Galesburg, and Toyota is now reinvesting in the city.

"The fact that now we're turning around and investing in Galesburg," Everhart said. "It's quite an investment. obviously, to put up a 20,000 square foot building and to buy three and a half acres over in that area. But we're here to stay, we're not going anywhere."

"And I think it proves to the community and to the employees exactly that. That we're here to stay, we're investing in the community of Galesburg, and that's where our future is."

Everhart says fences and signage should be up early next week, with ground being moved hopefully by the end of the week.

He says the plans call for a customer friendly and state of the art environment. Inside there will be a fireplace, flat screen TV's, a coffee bar, and a children's play area.

Everhart says along North Seminary Street there will be vehicles atop pads to promote Galesburg Toyota. The car-dealership expects construction to be completed in the spring sometime.
