Christmas Music On The Horns
After seven years Tuba Christmas has made its way back to Galesburg.

Started in 19-74 Tuba Christmas was designed to give Tubas, Baritone Horns and Euphoniums the opportunity to play music they wouldn't normally play during a standard concert.

Organizer behind this years event Gloria Bailey tells the WGIL Evening News those involved don't get together ahead of time so when they meet on the day of the concert it's the fist time they're all playing together.

"Horn players and audience alike we practice in the morning," says Baily. "It's a one day event, most of the Tuba Christmas' that I have seen on their website usually practice that day and then have a break and perform the concert all in the same day."

Bailey says most of the people who come out to play in the band are no strangers to Tuba Christmas.

She says that makes having just one rehearsal do-able because most people already know the music.

Bailey says the music isn't that hard so anyone who's new should be able to pick it right up.

The show is Saturday afternoon at Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg.
