Shots Fired in Galesburg Beating and Robbery
Galesburg Police responded to the 500 block of North Henderson street to a reported robbery last night.

Officers arrived in less than a minute on scene just after 10 o'clock where the victim and his roommate were collecting themselves.

The victim had just moved to Galesburg two weeks ago, and said a group of masked black men came from behind the home's garage and appeared to have silver guns.

After demanding a wallet and phone, the men allegedly pistol-whipped and beat the victim before asking what electronics they could get from inside the house.

Officers advised the men were more likely looking for drugs. Cannabis was present at the scene. Once inside, the victim's roommate allegedly swung a chair at the men before they allegedly fired shots inside the home.

Police later discovered a hole in the wall of the home, a bullet casing, and a bullet hole in the hood of the victim's sweatshirt.

According to the report, the victim showed swelling and bruises on his face. The men, if caught, will be charged with: home invasion, discharge of a firearm, aggravated battery with a firearm, armed robbery, and intent to kill.

Police have no leads at this time. The investigation is continuing.
