District Opens Door For Naming Rights
District 205 school board members listened to a proposed policy name change to allow non-profit organizations and booster clubs to advertise on the schools athletic facilities along with non-school related entities.

The Board is hoping to bring money in from non-traditional sources considering decreasing amounts of state revenue the district's getting every year.

Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations Guy Cahill told the board the money raised would go back to the district to be use on other projects.

It shall be deposited into the site and construction fund and used soley to equip and furnish newly renovated, updated, and constructed facilities of the district and that's distrcit wide," says Cahill. "It's not specific to the structures that are currently on Phase one. Since all buildings will be updated, all buildings will benefit from this."

The board would set a price menu and run time for advertisements.

The new policy would also expand where advertisements could be placed around the school such as scoreboards and fences.

A decision on the policy change will come at a later date.
