School Service May Not Be Over For Denisar
It was a night filled with food, laughter, and kind words for retiring District 205 Superintendent Gene Denisar last night.

Friends from different points in the superintendent's life were invited to the Soangataha Country Club last night (Saturday) to tell a few stories at Denisar's expense.

Denisar was surprised by colleagues at District 205 and by family with the celebration and subsequent roast.

He tells WGIL he hoped the best for District 205.

"I feel like I'm on top of the world," Denisar said last night. "It's incredible, these people are wonderful people and it's been a wonderful evening. It's just awesome."

Denisar is retiring at the end of the year and moving down to Manatee County, Florida - where it was announced last night (Saturday) he will be running for School Board.

"Right now they're dealing with some issues that are difficult and I think I can bring some stability and good judgement to the County," says Denisar.

He was a former Superintendent of the Manatee County school district and said he wanted to give back to that community because they are dealing with some difficult issues.

Current Superintendent of Cirriculum Bart Arthur will be taking over for Denisar at the beginning of next year.

Denisar said Arthur will do a great job carrying the torch for the district in the future.
