Library Board Tries To Move Forward
The Galesburg Public Library Board of Trustees held a special meeting yesterday in an attempt to organize after the death of Board member Mike Kroll.

Kroll chaired the Library Finance and Construction Committees during his time spent on the board and current board members needed a way to keep those committees from moving forward.

Roger Peterson agreed to chair the Finance committee and Board Chairman Martin Reichel and Library Director Harriet Zipfel will co-chair the construction committee.

Reichel tells WGIL Kroll ran the show and he probably enjoyed it to some extent.

"I can't put in that kind of time, but Harriet is right here at the library and in the center of things," says Reichel. "So I think between the two of us, I think we can do the job."

Mayor Sal Garza is in charge of selecting Kroll's replacement.

From the discussion, six or seven names are already on the roster with another name being submitted for consideration.

Reichel said he hopes the Mayor appoints someone who wants to be on the board.
