Man Accused In Thanksgiving Meth Bust Makes Court Appearance
An Abingdon man arrested with a Wataga resident for allegedly having a key methamphetamine-making ingredient in a car the two were in Thanksgiving night has made a court appearance.

52-year old Kevin Smith made his first appearance in Knox County Circuit Court this morning with his public defender, Jim Harrell.

Smith and 35-year old Craig Fox both face Class-X felony Charges of Unlawful Participation in Methamphetamine Production, along with lesser counts of Possession of Meth-Manufacturing Chemicals, Possession of Anhydrous Ammonia, among others.

The two were arrested November 22nd after Knox County Sheriffs Deputies pulled over a vehicle south of Abingdon, and discovered a container inside the vehicle that allegedly had Anhydrous in it, along with another container that is believed to have had a white substance inside.

Smith and Fox will both be back in court December 17th for preliminary hearings.

The two remain jailed on 100-thousand dollars bond apiece, at which time a judge will also consider whether or not Smith's bond should be reduced.
