Galesburg Sees Unemployment Drop
The jobs picture may be improving in Galesburg as the the area reported unemployment of 8.2 percent for November.

That's down from 8.5 percent in October and 8.8% from this period a year ago according to the Illinois Department of Employment Security.

Knox County reported an unemployment rate non-seasonally adjusted unemployment of 7.8%, down from 8.5% the previous year.

More than 2,000 people are still unemployed in the County.

Around the listening area, Henry County reported 6.5%, Stark saw 7.8, Warren 6.6 and Fulton County reported 9% unemployment.

The state of Illinois improved to 8.2% in November from 8.4% unemployment in October.

That is still above the national average of 7.4%.
