Special Board Meeting For Knoxville School Board
The Knoxville School Board met Tuesday night for a special board meeting.

The meeting focused mostly on construction of the new high school, which Superintendent Steven Wilder says is moving along.

There was also some discussion about two inter-fund transfers.

Wilder tells WGIL he's recommending the board approve the transfers to help cover some over spending in the district.

"The cost for the sports complex went a little over our budget," says Wilder. "The district has the bulk of its reserves in the education fund so there will be a transfer in the education fund to the building fund just to take care of that overage."

The other transfer would move the sales tax revenue out of the site and construction fund.

Wilder says that transfer needs to be made because they're using the sales tax revenue to pay for an alternate revenue bond and that needs to comes from the bond and interest fund.

He says there should be no issues moving the money. It's now up to the board to approve the transfer at the next board meeting.
