Man Arrested After Threatening Woman With Knife
Galesburg Police responded to the 500 block of Churchill to reports of a domestic battery early Friday morning.

43 year old James Harvey Senior, a friend of his and a woman were drinking before going back to Harvey's house.

Harvey's friend allegedly poured cocaine onto the kitchen counter top when, upon seeing the drugs, the woman attempted to leave the residence.

According to the report, Harvey then pulled a knife on the woman and told her to get undressed. When the woman refused, Harvey allegedly threw her into the wall of his residence.

The woman escaped the scene and knocked on house doors along the block. When police arrived, they entered the residence to find white powder in the kitchen but were field testing the substance at the time of the report.

Harvey was arrested and charged Aggravated Assault and Unlawful Restraint.

He appeared in court Friday afternoon where bond was set at $25,000. Harvey indicated he would be hiring a private attorney.

He will be back in court Wednesday at 9 am. Police investigations are continuing.
