|Robert Lee Dalton, 66, of Galesburg, died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2012 at home.
He was born January 22, 1946 in Peoria, Ill. the son of Willis Earl and Florence Emma Pennington Dalton. He married Sherry Treadway on September 3, 1972 in Galesburg.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry; his mother, Florence Dalton of Elmwood, Ill.; two sons, Jeffrey Dalton of Bettendorf, Iowa and James Dalton of Galesburg; and a brother, Willis Wayne (and Connie) Dalton of Elmwood. He was preceded in death by his father in 1994.
Robert was a self-employed carpenter for many years, retiring in 2009. He graduated from Elmwood High School in 1965. Robert flew RC model airplanes and was a member of the Galesburg RC Flyers Club. He liked riding motorcycles, listening to music, and playing music as a drummer in his family band. He also enjoyed boating.
He served in the United States Army Reserve for two years.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2012 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Mark Graham will officiate. Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
