|Joseph P. Patterson, 40, of Galesburg died at 3:46 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Cottage Hospital.
He was born December 29, 1971 in Monmouth, Ill. the son of Sam and Alice Darlene Sullivan Patterson. He married Misty Brook Luallen "Brianna." She survives.
Also surviving is his mother, Alice Patterson of Monmouth, Ill.; two brothers, Samuel B. (and Elizabeth) Patterson of New Windsor, Ill. and Mark S. (and Patsy) Patterson of Wataga, Ill.; three sisters, Diana L. (and Curtis) Campagna of Monmouth, Stacey L. Davidson of Alexis, Ill. and Tammy D. (and John) Dykeman of Green Bay, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Leroy Patterson; his grandparents, Samuel Lloyd and Maude Patterson and Leslie and Jessie Lindburg; a nephew, Jeremy Patterson; and a brother-in-law, Andrew Davidson.
Joseph worked at Happy Joe's Pizza and for Warren Achievement Center. He also tutored at Carl Sandburg College. He graduated from Alexis High School in 1991 and attended Carl Sandburg. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Joseph loved to make people laugh.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bishop Bruce Polay will officiate. There will be no visitation.
