Frederick C. Strader, 69, passed away at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, after a brief stay at Seminary Manor.
He was born May 29, 1943, in Galesburg, to George and D. Irene (Addis) Strader. He married Karen S. Varnold on Nov. 29, 1969 and they moved to Huntington Beach, Calif. They later divorced, but remained close friends until his passing.
Fred recently moved back to Galesburg this past summer, but then was diagnosed with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Charles. Fred is survived by his former wife and caregiver, Karen; cousin Joel (Annie) Strader, who helped Fred to his doctor appointments, and cousin Richard (Phyllis) Strader, all of Galesburg.
Cremation rites have been accorded and burial will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, per Fred's wishes. A celebration of life will be at a later date.
