Robert F. Hedden, age 89 of Galesburg, Il. died Saturday December 29, 2012 at 7:50 PM at Seminary Manor Nursing Home.
He was born October 13, 1923 in Middle Grove, Il. the son of Albert J. and Ollie Harper Hedden. He married Patricia Leahy in Galesburg on August 18, 1951. She preceded him in death on July 8, 2005.
Robert is survived by two sons Thomas P. and Lori Hedden and Scott A. Hedden both of Galesburg, two daughters Kim E. Hedden of Phoenix, Az. and Sheila J. and Bill Napier of Maxwell, Ia., and five grandchildren Colleen Nielsen, Brett Walton, Shawn Hedden, Stephanie Hedden, and Whitney Hedden, two great grandchildren Teagen Nielsen, and Kallie Nielsen.
He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
He graduated from Fairview High School in 1941 in Fairview, Il.. He was a tool and die maker for Butler Manufacturing Company for 45 years retiring in 1987.
He served in the United States Army during WW2 for three years. He was a member of the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285.
Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Thursday January 3, 2013 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel with Rev. James Ecklund officiating. Visitation will be 12-1:30 PM Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery with Military Rite conducted by American Legion Post # 285 Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the Ralph M. Nobel American Legion Post #285 Honor Guard. |
