Jerry L. Walker, 76, 121 W. Simmons St., Galesburg, died at 8:35 AM Friday, January 01, 2010 in Heartland Health Care Center.
He was born September 19, 1933 in Galesburg, the son of Ralph and Zula Baker Walker. He married Sandra K. Senn on February 23, 1962 in Knoxville, IL. She survives.
Also surviving is a son, Scott Walker of Galesburg, a daughter, Theresa (and Mark) Johnson of Tuckerman, AR, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a brother, Ralph Walker of Lakeland, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Michael Walker on May 2, 2008, and 2 brothers.
Jerry was an assembler at Maytag for 35 years, retiring in 1992. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1951. He was a singer with The Flame Sisters and Company.
Visitation will be 1 to 2 PM Tuesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. A prayer service will follow. Rev. Marilyn Anell will officiate. Private burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com. |
