Lytle, Doris A.
Doris A. Lytle, age 75, of Wataga, Illinois, died on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 6:27 P.M. at her residence.

She was born on August 30, 1934 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of George L. and Anna Barnes Palmer.

She married Charles T. Lytle on September 14, 1952 in Galesburg, Illinois.

He preceded her in death on March 9, 1985.

Surviving are:
Sons: Mike A. (Paula) Lytle of Versailles, Missouri; Roger L. Lytle of Wataga, Illinois; Tim (Jan) Lytle of Galesburg, Illinois; Jeff A. Lytle of Galesburg, Illinois; Edward (Deb Hilligoss) Lytle of Galesburg, Illinois;
Nine Grandchildren: Christopher Lytle, Rayel Lytle, Lisa Muir, Tom (Nichole) Lytle, Eric Lytle, Rebecca Lytle, Steven Lytle, Amber Lytle, and Charles Lytle; Seven Great Grandchildren; Sister: Nancy (Robert) Kemper of Oneida, Illinois; Nephew: Jerry Lee Singleton of Galesburg, Illinois.

Preceded by her parents, husband and two sisters: Beverly and Alice Jo.

She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1952.

She was a homemaker and worked as a nurse's aide for the Galesburg Red Cross; Activity Director at the Knox County Nursing Home; then worked at Galesburg Research Hospital until it closed and then at Zeller Mental Health Center in Peoria, Illinois until she retired.

She was a member of the Congregational Church in Wataga, Illinois.

She was a member of the CB Club and the Bootkickers Dance Club; treasurer of the TRIAD; former member of the Galesburg Moose Lodge # 880; volunteered at the Galesburg VFW Post # 2257 and was an avid Bingo player.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 12:00 Noon at the Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois with Visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. Rev. David Kramer officiating. Memorials may be made to the VFW Post # 2257 of Galesburg, Illinois; Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post # 285 of Galesburg, Illinois or Charity of the Donor's Choice.

Cremation Rites will be accorded and Inurnment will be held at a later date in Wataga Cemetery In Wataga, Illinois.
