Chet Anderson, 61, 500 E. Victoria St., Wataga, IL, died at 6:10 PM Sunday, January 17, 2010 at home.
He was born August 22, 1948 in Phelps County, MO, the son of George W. and Alma Leona Robertson Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, 2 sons, James Anderson of Galesburg and Todd Anderson of North Carolina, a step son, Scott (and Lisa) Sloan of Oquawka, IL, 3 grandchildren, the mother of his son James, Cyndi Anderson of North Henderson, IL, a brother, Ed Anderson of Phelps County, MO, and 3 sisters, Thelma Mathews of Springfield, MO, and Pauline Mapoli and Sharon Close, both of Florissant, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Chet was a heavy equipment lineman for Sprint/Centel Telephone Company for 27 years. For the past 10 years, he and his wife have owned and operated The Corral on Grand Ave. Chet enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and playing golf.
Cremation will be accorded. Celebration of Life will begin at 5 PM Saturday, January 23, 2010 at The Corral. Memorials may be made to the Galesburg Rescue Mission or Safe Harbor Family Crisis Center.
