|Elmer R. Rednour, 86, of Rio, Il. Died Monday January 18, 2010 in his home.
Graveside Services are 11:00 AM Friday at Rio Baptist Cemetery where Graveside Military Services will be conducted. Visitation is from 4 - 7 PM Thursday at the Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Alpha where memorials may be left to the Rio Baptist Cemetery, Rio Presbyterian Church or Tri-County Ambulance Service. He was born September 26, 1923 in Cutler, Il a son of Theodore and Daisy Hickerson Rednour. He attended Rio schools and married Anna Rose Devlin April 8, 1944 in Henderson, Il.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War 2
Elmer was employed in various capacities at Michigan Wisconsin Pipeline in New Windsor for 30 years retiring in 1983. He enjoyed golfing, refinishing antique furniture and feeding the birds and squirrels. He enjoyed sports and in his younger years was an avid softball player.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Ann Rose Rednour, 3 daughters, Melodee (Gene) Gibson of Dahinda, Il. Sherri (Curtis) Pitman of Rio, Penny (Gary) Peterson of Oneida, Il 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, a brother Roy "Corky" Rednour of Galesburg and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, an infant daughter, 4 sisters and 3 brothers preceded him
