Howard, Rosalie
Rosalie Howard, age 74 of Maquon, Illinois died on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at 8:02 A.M. at her residence.

She was born on August 25, 1935 in Ava, Illinois, the daughter of Elmer and Ruby Crisler Rury.

She married William J. Howard on May 30, 1959 in Galesburg, Illinois.

He preceded her in death on February 21, 2004.

Surviving are:

Sons: Michael J. (Judith) Howard of Bondville, Illinois, Timothy D. (Kyla) Howard of Bushnell, Illinois, Matthew J. (Tina White) Howard of Maquon, Illinois and Steven R. (Stefany Nicodemus) Howard of Gurnee, Illinois

Grandchildren: Kortney, Daniel and Janna Howard

Sister: Barbara (Rex) Swanson of Osco, Illinois

Brothers: Earl (Debbie) Rury of Plainfield, Illinois and Chris (Linda) Rury of Las Vegas, Nevada

Preceded in death by her parents and husband.

She was raised and educated in Wataga, Illinois graduating from Galesburg High School in 1955.

She was a farm wife and worked in housekeeping at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois for over 10 years.

She was a member of the Orange Chapel United Methodist Church in rural Gilson, Illinois where she was very active.

She was a member of the Knox County Home Extension and volunteered at the Knox County Nursing Home.

She was a die-hard Cub fan.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Orange Chapel United Methodist Church in rural Gilson, Illinois. Rev. Dan Doty officiating.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Burial in Maquon Cemetery in Maquon, Illinois.

Memorials may be made to the Orange Chapel United Methodist Church or the Maquon Fire Department. Online condolences may be made at www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com.
