Ruth B. Cox Dahlstrom, age 98 of Galva, Illinois formerly of Oneida, Illinois died on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 10:40 A.M. at Courtyard Estates in Galva, Illinois.
She was born on May 27, 1911 in Morton, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas W. and Catherine Colliss Burroughs.
She married Joseph E. Cox on May 19, 1932 in Washington, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 26, 1960. She later married Stewart Dahlstrom on January 1, 1961. He preceded her in death on September 26, 1970.

Daughter: Kay (Hubert) Rylander of Galva, Illinois
Son: Stephen (Phyllis) Cox of Port Charlotte, Florida
Five Grandchildren
Ten Great Grandchildren and Two Great Great Grandchildren
Stepchildren: Gwen Strand of Woodhull, Illinois, Miriam Landis of Woodhull, Illinois and Don (Janet) Dahlstrom of Woodhull, Illinois
Several Step Grandchildren
Preceded in death by her parents; one son: John Joseph Cox; one grandchild: Mary Elizabeth Cox Daniel; two brothers and three sisters
She was raised and educated in Tazewell County, Illinois graduating from East Peoria High School. She received her teaching certificate from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and taught two years at Hopedale Country School.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Oneida United Methodist Church; Oneida Women's Club; Ontario Congregational Church; Ontario Women's League; Oneida Senior Citizens; and the Rebecca Park Chapter of the DAR in Galesburg, Illinois.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Oneida, Illinois. Pastor David Esche officiating.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home in Oneida, Illinois.
Burial in Oneida Cemetery in Oneida, Illinois.
