|Edna Mae Thompson 91, of Roseville, IL passed away on Wednesday January 27, 2010, 4:10 pm at the Roseville Country Manor.
She was born May 20, 1919 in Raritan, IL the fourth and oldest daughter of Elma A. and Pearl Gibb Harden. She married Duane "Bud" Thompson on March 12, 1941. They celebrated their 68th Anniversary in 2009.
She is survived by her husband Bud of Roseville, IL; one daughter Twila Jane (Van) Kaiser; three granddaughters Lara, and Rachel Kaiser, Jennifer Kaiser; two great granddaughters, one great grandson and many cousins and friends; one sister Eva Marie Link of Media, IL. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and their wives
Edna Mae was born at home in Point Pleasant Township. She was baptized into the Raritan Baptist Church at an early age then transplanted to the Roseville Christian Church in 1947 when they moved to Roseville. They adopted their daughter at age six months. She cooked at the Roseville Grade School when it was first built for 20 years and then at the Roseville Nursing Home as head cook when it first opened; after leaving there she worked a Martha Brown Lady's ready to wear store for 20 years until they closed and she retired. During their married life of 68 years they traveled many places over the US until the last few years. She was on the Warren County Home Bureau Board for several years. She joined the Roseville Christian Church 56 years ago. She worked hard all her life and enjoyed life right up until the end. She really loved her daughter and grandchildren. She will be missed by all.
Funeral service will be Saturday January 30, 2010, 1:00 pm at the Corman Memorial home Roseville, IL. Family will receive friends on Friday, January 29, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 pm. Entombment will be in the Roseville Mausoleum.
