|Herman Singleton, 65, of 358 Houston St., Galesburg, Ill., died 12:45 a.m. Tuesday January 4, 2011 in Marigold Health Care Center.
He was born March 8, 1945 in Greenbush, Ill. the son of Cleo Raymond and Bessie Woods Singleton. He married Delores Quinn in Galesburg on November 23, 1973. She preceded him in death on April 13, 2006.
He is survived by three sons, Wayne (Tisha) Singleton of Eljay, Ga., Earl LeRoy (Anna) Singleton and Cleo (Stacy) Singleton, both of Galesburg; a daughter, Vicki Joyner of Galesburg; three brothers, Roland Singleton, Francis Singleton of Washington, Ill. and Tom (Barb) Singleton of Prairie City, Ill.; a sister, Lola Gillette of Bushnell, Ill.; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Herman worked as a mechanic for various shops and gas stations. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
Graveside services are scheduled 2 p.m. Friday January 7, 2011 in Greenbush Cemetery, Greenbush, Ill. Rev. Roy Smith will officiate. Visitation will be noon until 1 p.m. Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
