Anderson, Trafferd E.
Trafferd E. Anderson, 77, of Monmouth died at 6:56 A.M. Monday, January 10, 2011 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth.

He was born June 21, 1933 in Warren County, Illinois, the son of Trafferd C. and Josephine (Frank) Anderson. He was reared and educated in the Monmouth area, attending Monmouth High School.

Trafferd married Louise Krogmeier in Montrose, Iowa on August 3, 1957 and she survives.

He served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1952-1956.

Trafferd retired from Wilson Foods in Monmouth after 20years, He later worked as a driver for Cavanaugh Bus in Monmouth, Turnquist Security Services for 4 years and then for the Warren Achievement Center for over 7 years as a van driver.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth, the Monmouth Knights of Columbus, life member of the Monmouth VFW Post #2301 and the Monmouth American legion Post #136. He enjoyed playing cards, reading, watching TV, calling Bingo at the Strom Center and spending time with his grandchildren. Trafferd was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Surviving are his wife, Louise Anderson of Monmouth; 2 sons, Ernest (Debbie) Anderson of Westminster, CO. and Trafferd A. Anderson of Monticello, IA; one daughter, Kathy (Jeff) Nichols of Stronghurst, IL; 6 grandchildren, Eric Anderson, Corinna Anderson, Connor Anderson all of Westminster, Co, Casey Nichols, Catlyn Nichols and Curtis Nichols all of Stronghurst, IL and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one nephew.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Sat. January 15, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Monmouth with Fr. Anthony Bernas. Burial with Military Honors will be St. Marys Cemetery, Monmouth. Friends may call Friday, January 14, 2011 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where his family will be present from 6:00-8:00 P.M. with a Rosary service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to the Strom Senior Center in Monmouth.
