Donald E. Yarrington, 72, of 935 Dayton Dr. Galesburg, Ill. died 8:30 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg.
He was born August 11, 1939 in Avon, Ill. to Curtis E. and Gayle N. Saben Yarrington.
He is survived by an uncle, Gary W. (and Barbara) Saben of Northbrook, Ill., an aunt, Phyllis (and the late Lee F.) Saben of Biggsville, Ill, five cousins, Priscilla Saben of Biggsville, Cynthia (and Michael) Schwab of Metamora, Ill, Janet (and Michael) Landon of Galesburg, Jacqueline (and Todd) Hamilton of Westlake, Texas and Denise (and Scott) Svetyl of Reedsburg, Wis. He is also survived by a faithful friend Martie Stegall of Galesburg. They were always there for each other through happiness and sadness.
He is preceded in death by his parents, an aunt, Lois Fussell and an uncle, Lee F. Saben.
Donald worked in the real estate, banking and insurance businesses. He graduated from Biggsville High School where he was homecoming king and was chosen to the Western Illinois All Star Football Team. He attended Bradley University, Peoria, Ill. He was a United States Army veteran. Donald lived in Arizona, California and Nevada but he enjoyed Las Vegas the most. He loved being with his family and friends and enjoyed music and concerts.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Lisa Cato-Crider will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.
