|Robert D. Kemper, age 76 of Oneida, Illinois died at 5:07 P.M. on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at his residence in Oneida, Illinois.
He was born on November 18, 1935 in Maquon, Illinois the son of William R. and Miriam Verna Eggers Kemper. He was reared and educated in Galesburg, Illinois. He married Nancy Lee Palmer on October 10, 1956 in Rock Island, Illinois. She survives Oneida, Illinois.
Surviving are two sons: Robert L. Kemper of Galesburg, Illinois, and William L. (Mary) Kemper of Galesburg, Illinois. Four daughters, Patricia J. Simmons of Lincoln, Nebraska, Cynthia K. (Alan) Helvick of Galesburg, Illinois, Edwina L. (Jeff) Vandemark, of Knoxville, Illinois and Theresa M. (Fiancée' Tony Honsey) Mead, of Galesburg, Illinois. Nine Grandchildren, Six Step Grandchildren, Ten Great Grandchildren, and 15 Step Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mary M. Smallwood and Belva Bybee; two brothers, Laverne and Loyal Kemper.
He was the Supervisor at the ROWVA Bus Garage.
He served in the National Guard from 1955 to 1958.
He loved to camp, fish, and hunt. He enjoyed going to the Old Threshers Reunion in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 20, 2012 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg, Illinois. Rev. Don Reynolds Officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Oneida, Illinois. Fellowship will follow the graveside services at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Center in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the family.
