|Richard Lee "Dick" Ryden, 52, of Galesburg died peacefully at his home on Monday, January 1, 2012.
He was born March 25, 1959 in Galesburg the son of Richard Scott and Joceile H. Knutson Ryden. He was married to Cindy L. Wingo from 1988 until 2000.
He is survived by his mother, Joceile H. Knutson, three brothers, David A. Ryden, Kevin E. (Tracey) Ryden, and Michael E. (Janice) Ryden, two sisters, Annette Gustafson and Patricia A. (Ron) Baumgardner all of Galesburg, six nieces and five nephews, two great nieces, three great nephews, two stepchildren Jason and Jami whom he loved very much and his life long best friend Scott Price. He is preceded in death by his father, a brother Jeffrey E. Ryden, and his special friend Lori Monzo.
He served in the Army.
Dick worked for the City of Galesburg in the Street, Park, Water Departments. He also worked for the Galva Foundry and the Abingdon Pottery. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1977.
He enjoyed softball. He played first base on several leagues through the years. He was our "Babe Ruth." He was a true fisherman at heart and also enjoyed mushrooming. He would do anything for anyone, he had a heart of gold and only saw the good in people. He was a "unique individual." He did it his way!
